stained glass mosaic on wood panel, interior piece
15"x18", plus frame
Price: $1,850, frame included (shipping extra)
This beautiful Iris Flower bloomed in my garden. This gave me an opportunity to work on this mosaic not only from a photo and a sketch, but also from observation.
”Iris at Dawn, #5”
15"x18”, stained glass, grouted. Interior only.
Price: $1,650
A portrait of a flower that started with a photograph, was sketched into a watercolor, and then translated into a mosaic.
"Blue Ammonite: Seed the Stars”, 18”x18”, stained glass.
Price: $1,950, framed.
When you take an image of an ancient creature and of a blue color of water and float it all against the starry sky - a connection is made. This connection is about the origins of Life in the Universe and about the importance of Water. Our little Water World full of living creatures is floating in the vastness of space, soon to seed the stars with Life.
Imagine! "Blue Ammonite" and "Starry Night Ammonite" combo in the interior space. Note: these two artworks are of slightly different size, one is 18"x18", another one is 16"x16". We can make similar pieces to match the sizes and make it a diptych.
”Venus” 18”x18”, stone, smalti, gold.
Price: $1,800, framed
The idea for the project originated from Yulia's drawing that she did for an Inktober ink drawing challenge. The prompt was "Treasure". What can be more precious than a figure of Venus of Willendorf floating in the vastness of space?! She was even given a space helmet!
Imagine! "Blue Ammonite" and a "Venus" combo in the interior space.
"Blueshift" from ”Light as a Wave as a Particle” triptych.
Light can behave as a wave and as a particle. This duality is showcased in a ”Light as a Wave as a Particle” mosaic done on a wavy substrate using small size hand-cut smalti glass. "Blueshift" panel represents light that has been traveling towards us, that is "blue shifted". Because blue light has a higher frequency, there are more waves represented in this composition comparing to a "Redshift" piece.

"Redshift" panel represents light that has been traveling away from us, that is "red shifted". Because red light has a longer wave, there are fewer waves represented in this composition comparing to the full spectrum ”Light as a Wave as a Particle” piece.

This work is part of my Evolution series that takes the viewer from the fist moments of Big Bang to formation of stars and planets, to establishment of human society, to invention of a cat and theories of multiple dimension and multiverse. This piece depicts the First Light that came to be before the formation of first stars, between 240,000 and 300,000 after the Big Bang. It was at this particular moment when the Universe became "transparent" and all the composing elements became visible. A primordial rainbow that came into existence billions of years ago still mesmerizes us reverberating through the space-time continuum.
